The Hindu festival of Holi is also known as the “Festival of colors”. The festival of Holi is a very important event in India. This year Holi will begin on March 1 and ends on March 2.

The festival has its origins in Asia but it is now celebrated throughout the world.

Whats unique about this festival is the tradition of spraying water and coloured powders on other people.

  • Gujiya

  • Dahi Vada

  • Pakora

Lohri is celebrated in the Indian-Northern states when the winter reaches its peak. On this day people are busy preparing for Lohri, a bonfire festival which is much awaited. This festival is celebrated to celebrate the Rabi crop harvesting

Lord Agni, the Hindu God of fire is worshipped on this day. The day is also marks the winter solstice-the day with the longest night and shortest day. On this day, the end of winter starts and it also signifies the onset of the spring season i.e. longer days and shorter nights return.

Lohri is celebrated with family get-together and offering of food to holy fire. A traditional ritual of lighting the bonfire is performed on this day. People dance to the dhol beats, sing folklore, fly kites and enjoy delicious food.
